Eligibility Criteria to Appear on the Engineering entrance exam for Bachelor of Engineering

• Candidates must pass 10+2 with a minimum of 45 to 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics overall.

IOE Engineering Entrance Exam in Nepal

The undergraduate Engineering Entrance Exam is conducted each year by Tribhuvan University. To get admitted into any constituent or private engineering college affiliated with TU, you first need to pass and score a minimum of 40%

The IOE Entrance test is very competitive and is attended by more than 15,000 students yearly. A few years before, these tests used to be paper-based. But now, the IOE Tests are computer-based.

• IOE Engineering test is conducted in Pulchowk Campus. 
• No aptitude test for the year 2077/078.
• The result is published at least 3-4 days after the computer-based test of all applicants. 
• You cannot study in private colleges of TU without appearing on IOE Entrance Exam.
• Entrance exams are generally scheduled for August-September. COVID-19 has changed things now. Overall, the engineering entrance test is scheduled 4-6 months after the exam of class 12. 
• Any new updates are found on the IOE Entrance website. 

Application Process for IOE Entrance Examination

1. The candidate should deposit an amount of Rs 2,000 as an application fee for the entrance examination in Account No. 00915056064 of the Siddhartha Bank Limited by submitting a specially prepared voucher, often by filling in the applicant's name and date of birth. Voucher No. Indicated in the voucher needs to be specified in the online application form.
2. The candidate must select the appropriate entrance stream.
3. The candidate should fill in the other required fields in the form without skipping any steps.
4. The candidate must also upload his/her colour photograph of the prescribed specification and one of the following identification documents.
    - Citizenship certificate or Passport or Last Academic Exam Admit Card 

Students are advised to fill out the form carefully so that no errors are present during submission. In case of errors, applicants must change the submitted information and pay an extra charge. 

After completing and submitting the application form, applicants must download and print the coloured admit card. Entrance takers must bring the admit card and an identification document to the entrance examination.  

Applicants cannot appear on the IOE Entrance examination if they don’t present the colour printed admit card and original ID Document. 

Mark Division

The entrance test conducted by IOE is 2 hours long and has questions from 5 main categories. There will be 100 questions: 60 questions, 1 mark each, and 40 questions, 2 marks each.
