About

Process engineering is a diversified discipline designed to satisfy the needs of various processing industries including oil and gas and mineral processing. It encompasses new development, design, optimization and operation of sustainable processes for human needs, ensuring safety and protection of the environment. Process engineers process substances through biological, chemical and physical processes to produce useful products such as petrochemicals, gasoline, food, pharmaceuticals, metals and alloys.

Memorial’s process engineering program is unique in that it is the first of its kind in Canada with a mandatory co-op program, which provides students with opportunities to work in a range of industries from oil production to cheese processing. You will also learn in state-of-the-art laboratories and participate in unique research projects that are changing the future of engineering.

Our courses and research emphasize environmentally conscious engineering: the importance of development while conserving resources for generations to come. You will study safe, sustainable development and learn about the important role in resource lifecycles.

To apply for admission into the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, indicate bachelor of engineering in the appropriate place on the undergraduate application for admission. In addition to meeting the general admission requirements, you will also need to meet the admission requirements set out by the  Faculty of Engineering.
