Eligibility for admission
- Student must have passed 10+2 in Science, I. Tech. in Food/Lab Technology, or equivalent, securing at least second division or equivalent.
- Students with 10+2 or equivalent from a foreign board must have studied science with significant subjects in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, securing at least a C.
- A-level students must have passed, securing a D in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Entrance Examination
Eligible students appear in an entrance examination conducted by the Central Campus of Technology, Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), TU.
The entrance examination is for 100 total marks. It tests applicants' knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math and Statistics, Logical reasoning and English.

To pass the test, an applicant must secure a minimum of 50% marks. The result list is published in merit order with the names of the candidates and their eligibility for admission.
B.SC. Nutrition and Dietetics in Nepal Course Details
Hours of instruction
The entire B.Sc.ND course is of eight semesters (four academic years) with 127 credit hours. Each semester has 16 to 18 credit hours (equivalent to 400 to 450 marks) except for semesters VII and VIII.
In the seventh semester, there are two compulsory internship courses, namely,
(i) Community-based posting (2 months) of 6 credit hour
(ii) Hospital-based posting (3 months) of 8 credit hours.
In the eighth semester, students must carry out dissertation work of 12 credit hours, as mentioned in the curriculum.
Evaluation System
Students will be evaluated based on theoretical and practical examinations. A student must obtain at least 35% and 40% in theory and practical examinations to pass the examination. Dissertations and Internships (Field-based posting) also have pass marks of 40%.
Students for this course of study are graded as follows:
Distinction- 75% and above
1st division- 60% and above
2nd division- 45% and above.
Attendance requirements
B.Sc.ND students must attend every lecture, tutorial, seminar, field visit, lab work and practical class.
However, to accommodate for late registration, sickness and other contingencies, they must attend at least 70% of the theoretical and practical classes held to be eligible to appear for the final examination.
