    University of West London
    Established on: 1860

The University of West London (UWL) is a British public research university with campuses in Ealing, Brentford, and Reading, Berkshire.

The Lady Byron School, subsequently Ealing College of Higher Education, created the institution in 1860. It was renamed to its current name 18 years later, following various mergers, acquisitions, and campus relocation. The then-named Polytechnic of West London became a university, similar to Thames Valley University, in 1992.

The Claude Littner Business School, the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism, the School of Computing and Engineering, the London College of Music, the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare, the School of Law, the School of Human and Social Sciences, the School of Biomedical Sciences, and the London School of Film, Media and Design comprise the University of West London.

In western Greater London, there are two campus locations: St Mary's Road in Ealing and Paragon House in Brentford. A third facility is located in Reading, Berkshire, approximately 35 miles from the Ealing facilities.

The St Mary's Road, Ealing campus was transformed for £100 million in 2015, with a new social space, library, student's union, gym, and improved amenities. An additional £1 million was spent on the construction of the Paragon campus in Brentford, as well as the creation of a nursing simulation centre for the Reading campus in 2017.

The Heathrow Archive, a collection of over 800 artefacts depicting Heathrow Airport's narrative from 1946 to 2016, is located on the Ealing campus.

The University of West London Students' Union (UWLSU) is the university's recognised student organisation. In 2016, it was named the finest student union in Greater London. The Students' Union represents 47,000 students across all campuses. The National Union of Students is linked with UWLSU.

The union has a primary location at the St. Mary's Road campus on the ground floor of the North Building, where the Coffee Shop and Freddie's Bar are located, and a subsidiary location at the Paragon campus. The union seeks to provide students with the most important events, opportunities to participate in new activities or sports, support and advising services, and social space.
