    The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is a private catholic university with campuses in San Antonio and Alamo Heights, Texas. The university's main campus, spread across 154 acres (0.6 km2), was established in 1881 AD by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. The university is the most prominent Catholic university in Texas is there.

    The University of the Incarnate Word is a prestigious educational institution motivated by Judeo-Christian principles, the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, and Catholic Social Teaching. 

    In China, recognised university degrees first became available in 2000. The University of the Incarnate Word was established as a women's college. This university runs St. Anthony Catholic High School, Incarnate Word High School, an all-girls high school, and a coeducational high school. Additionally, its Brainpower Connection program effectively manages two primary schools, St. Anthony's and St. Peter Prince of the Apostles.

    Main Intakes

    The University of the Incarnate Word accepts students on three intakes a year. Fall intake in July, winter intake in November and summer information in April.


    University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is dedicated to giving educational possibilities to students from all backgrounds, regardless of financial situation. With hundreds of grants and scholarships available to students across all majors, financial aid is provided to 99% of UIW students.

    Freshman Academic Scholarships

    Academic scholarships are automatically evaluated for first-year students as part of their application. The high school GPA is used to determine who gets these scholarships.

    Academic scholarships for first-year students vary from $7,000 to $20,000 per year starting in the fall and are renewable for up to four years.

    Catholic High School Scholarship

    For each student who has graduated from a Catholic high school, UIW gives an additional $2,000 per year scholarship. For this price, there isn't a different application. The scholarship will automatically be awarded to accepted Catholic high school students.

    Transfer Academic Scholarships

    Academic scholarships are automatically considered part of the application process for transfer students finishing their first undergraduate degree and accruing at least 24 credits at a recognised university. The GPA is used to determine who receives these awards. These grants are renewable for as many as four years of undergraduate study.

    Effective with the following fall semester, academic transfer grants are renewable for up to four years and range in price from $10 to $15,000.

    Phi Theta Kappa

    A yearly grant of $2,000 will be given to each Phi Theta Kappa member from a recognised 2-year university. The recipient's cumulative GPA must be 3.50 or better, and they must also be active members of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. To receive their certificate, winners must produce it.

    The University of the Incarnate Word has been included on Phi Theta Kappa's 2022 Transfer Honor Roll, which honours institutions for their success in creating and promoting new, dynamic routes for students transferring from community colleges.

    Alamo Colleges Scholarship

    In addition to other academic transfer grants, students seeking their first bachelor's degree who have completed their most recent 24 credits from Alamo Colleges and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better will receive $2,000 each year.

    Application Process

    Preparation phase

    • Explore program options and decide what to study.
    • Examine the entrance criteria for the program.
    • Submit original papers and sworn translations online.
    • In the case of overseas students, visa processing is required.

    Application for a first semester

    • Creates a uni-assist application for the University of the Incarnate Word.
    • Open the selection list, answer all essential questions, and upload all application forms to uni-assist before the application deadline.
    • Pay the processing fee and provide proof of payment to the online application.

    After Applying

    • If the application is complete and the credential is eligible for the selected program, the uni-assist will electronically transmit the documents to the University of the Incarnate Word.
    • The University of the Incarnate Word handles the admissions procedure.
    • The registration documentation students must submit specified in their admission letter.

    Arrive in The USA (In the case of international students)

    • Take a visa interview.
    • Students must sign a leasing agreement, create a bank account, receive health insurance, register their address, and apply to the Ausländerbehörde for a residence permit.
    • The studies can now begin.
