    The Universal Medical College, also known as the Universal College of Medical Sciences, was founded in 1998 AD. The college is located in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi district, only a 1.5-hour drive from the Indian city of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

    Universal College of Medical Sciences and Teaching Hospital (UCMS) is a well-known medical college widely regarded as a pioneer in the field of Medicine and Dentistry courses in Nepal. The college was built to train prominent medical professionals from around the world. The institution grew into Nepal's most prestigious medical college in less than a decade. It has evolved into a world-class learning center and one of the forerunners in healthcare delivery. More than 2000 successful medical students who completed graduate and postgraduate courses at this college now practice medicine worldwide.

    The Universal College of Medical Sciences offers MBBS and BDS programs in Lumbini, the Lord's Land and the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.     Admissions Procedure:

    • Candidates for M.B.B.S. admission must have finished their +2 in Science with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates must also pass an admission examination administered by the Institute of Medicine, TU.
    • Doctors who have completed their MBBS and are registered with their country's medical council are eligible for the postgraduate medical program at National Medical College. Candidates must also pass the P.G. admission examination administered by the Institute of Medicine, TU.

    The following are the entrance procedures for nursing programs:

    • PCL: To get admitted to the National Medical College, aspirants must have an average mark of 50% or more in S.L.C. and pass the CTEVT entrance examination.
    • B.N.: Candidates for the PCL must have a minimum of two years of work experience and pass the Tribhuwan University admission test.
    • B.Sc. : Applicants for B.Sc. in Nursing must have a minimum aggregate score of 50% or above in +2 Science or an equivalent degree. Applicants must pass the TU's entrance exams to be admitted to National Medical College.
    • M.N.: To be admitted to the Masters's program in Nursing, applicants must pass the TU's P.G. nursing entrance test.
