St. Cloud State University (SCSU) is a public-funding, non-profit university located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The university, one of the biggest in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, was founded in 1869 AD.

The institution was founded in 1869 as the Third State Normal School. Classrooms were on the first story, a model school was on the second floor, and a women's dormitory was on the third floor when it initially opened. There were just 53 students and five faculty members registered at that time. It allowed a name change in 1921 and 1898 and began offering a junior college program. It became a university in 1975. It has accreditation from the Minnesota State System of Higher Education, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. It has around 16,000 students enrolled in 2020 and more than 120,000 alums.

St. Cloud State University has more than 200 undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate academic programs through its six schools and two colleges. The university expands programs in various fields, including business, health, education, public affairs, liberal arts, and human services. The institution employs 783 highly qualified and experienced administrative staff members and 783 academic affiliations.

St. Cloud State University features a lovely 100-acre residential campus of well-kept structures with administrative offices, academic programs, and support services. A theatre, convenience shop, copy centre, two banks, conference rooms, offices, and computer laboratories are all located within the Atwood Memorial Center. The Kiehle Visual Arts Center's facilities include a public art gallery, a studio art area, and various courses.

The ISELF launched several research and educational facilities in 2013. The James W. Miller Learning Resources Center, often known as the main library, features 16 study rooms, a coffee shop, seven electronic classrooms, and a high-tech theatre. The other campus amenities include a bookshop, studio theatre, rehearsal space, performance space, and private practice studios.

Modern sports and recreation facilities are available on campus, including a fitness centre, swimming pool, hockey arena, boathouse, climbing wall, and martial arts studios. With National Collegiate Athletic Association sports affiliation, SCSU maintains 19 varsity teams that compete as Huskies in the national finals. The institution offers housing on campus in its six resident halls and two apartment complexes. SCSU encourages cycling on its campus. Students can commute within the city for free using the Metrobus system.
