    KMC is a private medical institution in Nepal that was founded in 1997. The Medical Council of Nepal, Sri Lankan Medical Council, General Medical Council (UK), and Medical Council of India fully recognise the college's permanent affiliation with Kathmandu University. Since June 2002, Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital has also been included in the digitised World Directory of Medical Schools published by the WHO. In addition to being recognised in the World Directory of Medical Schools, KMCTH has received full recognition from NMC. Additionally, it was mentioned in the now-defunct International Medical Education Directory (IMED). The Network Towards Unity for Health (TUFH), its main office in Glen, Belgium, counts KMC as an Associate Member.

    The clinical sciences are in Sinamangal, while the fundamental sciences are in Duwakot, Bhaktapur, where Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) is based. You'll find the main hospital near the Tribhuvan International Airport in Sinamangal. A neighbourhood hospital has also been constructed close to the Duwakot campus fundamental sciences. Emergency and general OPD services have already begun on the first and second floors of the 11-story Duwakot building.

    • To train future physicians to understand the socio-emotional needs of the community and to do research, enabling them to pursue postgraduate degrees and provide healthcare at a reasonable cost.
    • To give students the knowledge and skills they need to understand, support, and accept diverse medical systems' ethical and philosophical concepts.

    Qualification Requirements

    • MBBS/BDS: Must have finished 10+2, or comparable credentials, with a minimum of 50% in each subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) (which in general is similar to 'C' grades for Sri Lankan A-Level and 'D' grades for International A Levels such as EDEXCEL/London) and 50% in aggregate.

    OR Completed a Bachelor of Science Degree, acknowledged by the University, with one of the relevant subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and at least one other prescribed science subject of study up to the ancillary level, and managed to score not less than a total aggregate of 50% marks, given that such applicant passed the previous qualifying examination.

    OR completed a course comparable to I. Sc. (Biological Group) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as primary topics after obtaining a Certificate Level in Health Sciences from Dhulikhel Medical Institute, Kathmandu University, and achieving a minimum of 50% in aggregate.

    • BSc Nursing: Passed 10+2 Science or equivalent (including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) with 50% aggregate total marks or CGPA 2.4 OR Secured the percentage comparable to the above qualification in certificate level programs (A-Level) with alternative grading systems OR

    Applicants who have passed the National Examination Board's Health Science Proficiency Certificate Level/Diploma (General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Radiography, Physiotherapy) comprising Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

    AND Attained a minimum of 50% aggregate in total marks in both the Diploma and the Examination for Equivalence AND Registered with Nepal Health Professional Council, Nepal Pharmacy Council, or Nepal Ayurveda Councils per linked educational program.
