Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is a public research university in Michigan, USA. The university was founded in 1849 AD as the Michigan State Normal School, making it the fourth regular school in the US and the first outside New England.

Scholarships

Application Process

Eligibility for Admission:

The following requirements must be met for an applicant to be accepted as a student at Eastern Michigan University:

  • To be considered, students must have at least a 2.0 cumulative High School Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale).
  • First-year entrance at EMU is handled using a test-optional admissions methodology.
    • A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 or better is exempt from submitting their exam results.
    • Students will not be required to take the test if their cumulative GPA is between 2.5 and 2.74. The evaluation of an applicant's application and academic background may include a request for scores on standardised tests.
    • Students with a high school GPA of 2.49 or below must submit a test result.
  • The average high school graduate who transfers straight to EMU has to have a GPA of 3.28, an ACT score of 22, and an SAT score of 1100. These criteria are not prerequisites for admission.
