Dublin City University  (shortened as DCU) is a public university with its headquarters on Dublin's Northside. The university was founded in 1975 AD.

Dublin City University has established solid, ongoing relationships with academic, research, and industrial partners domestically and abroad, earning it the title of Ireland's University of Enterprise. Although the university has always maintained a business school, its initial emphasis was mainly on science and technology. Later, it started to emerge in the humanities and the performing arts. Another reason university is well-known is for its integrated training program, or INTRA, which was the first of its kind in Ireland.

Dublin City University has five campuses and more than 200 programs under its five primary colleges, including business, science and health, humanities and social sciences, and education. Daniel O'Hare Research Scholarships for Graduate Studies

Four PhD scholarships are being granted to start in the academic year 2015–16 in recognition of the contributions of its founding president, Dr Daniel O'Hare. Each DCU Faculty will receive one scholarship: the Faculty of Science and Health, the Faculty of Engineering and Computing, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the DCU Business School. This scholarship covers their DCU expenses and a stipend of €16,000 yearly for four years.

Postgraduate Travel Grants

Each full-time or part-time postgraduate research student is eligible to apply for one €500 travel stipend for their studentship.

Veronica Guerin Memorial Scholarship

The Veronica Guerin Memorial Scholarship gives a scholarship worth €8,500 to help a prospective or current student of the MA in Journalism at the School of Communications, Dublin City University, who wants to concentrate on investigative journalism with their tuition and certain incidental expenses.

John Thompson Marketing & Media Scholarships

For a business graduate enrolling in DCU's MA in Journalism program (PAC code DC600) at its College of Communications and for a journalism, media, or communications graduate enrolling in DCU's MSc in Marketing program (PAC code DC509) at its Business School, full tuition will be covered by the scholarships.

  • The applicant must meet the general and program-specific eligibility criteria for the program to which they desire to apply at Dublin City University. 
  • Students must take a language test and require minimum results:
    • TOEFL iBT and TOEFL iBT online (Home Edition): Overall 92, with no section below 20.
    • IELTS Academic/IELTS Academic online version: 6.5 overall with no section below 5.5.
    • Academic PTE: Overall score of 62, with no section in Communicative Skills below 42.
  • The application procedure may be completed online, with applicants uploading all relevant files and submitting educational documents.
