Dental Hygiene Course Overview:

Dental hygiene is a 3-year course designed under the CTEVT board. The primary mission of the curriculum is to provide a structure that directs and guides affiliated schools and their faculty in providing quality education to Dental Science (Dental Hygiene) trainees to meet the country's demand for dental health services.

Eligibility to enter the Dental Hygiene program requires the following:

  • Obtain at least a C grade in C. Mathematics, C. English, and C. Science in the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination from a recognized academic institution, as well as an average GPA of at least 2.0
  • Must pass the entrance examination conducted by CTEVT.
  • Documents like Citizenship, SEE certificate & Character certificate.
  • According to CTEVT policy, there are student quotas for various categories of students.

The Certificate in Dental Science (Dental Hygiene) takes three years to complete. The first year emphasises fundamental studies, the second year on dental science and public health, and the third year emphasises applying learned knowledge and abilities in hospital and community settings through complete practices.

The Dental Science program is a three-year program containing 39 academic weeks per year. A week is made up of a maximum of 40 hours.
