Scope of Biotechnology

After completing Biotechnology, you can work in multinational companies, pharmaceutical industries, environmental sectors, research sectors, food and beverage sectors, agricultural sectors, and many more.

In Nepal, biotechnology graduates are in demand to expand the research sector. Nepal has a vast scope in the agricultural and forestry sectors in Nepal as biotechnology has the potential to solve conventional agricultural approaches to advance the agricultural field by using biotechnology tools for the production and promotion of sustainable agriculture.

In Nepal, biotechnologists play a vital role in government and private research institutes such as NAST, the National Ayurveda Research and Training Center (NARTC), the Department of Plant Resources (DPR), The Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology (RIBB), Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences, Kathmandu Research Institute for Biological Sciences.

Besides these, as a biotechnology graduate, you can also be employed in INGO/NGO and academic institutions. Moreover, you can be self-employed and work as an entrepreneur and establish your own company after you have experience and skills in your expertise.
