Scope of Biotechnology

After the completion of Biotechnology, you can work in multinational companies, pharmaceutical industries, environmental sectors, research sectors, food and beverage sectors, agricultural sectors, and many more.

In Nepal, biotechnology graduates are in demand to expand the research sector. Nepal has a huge scope in the agricultural and forestry sectors in Nepal as biotechnology has the potential to solve conventional agricultural approaches to advance the agricultural field by using biotechnology tools for the production and promotion of sustainable agriculture.

In Nepal, biotechnologists play a vital role in government and private research institutes such as NAST, National Ayurveda Research and Training Center (NARTC), Department of Plant Resources (DPR), The Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology (RIBB), Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences, Kathmandu Research Institute for Biological Sciences.

Besides these, as a graduate in biotechnology, you can be employed in INGO/NGO, academic institutions as well. Moreover, you can be self-employed and work as an entrepreneur and can establish your own company after you have experience and skills in the field of your expertise.
