The University of Wisconsin–Stout, also known as UW–Stout or Stout, is a public university in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The university was founded in 1891 AD.

The University of Wisconsin-Stout is a Polytechnic University and was personally given the Malcolm Baldrige Award by President George W. Bush in 2001 AD, making it the first higher education recipient. The UW System Board of Regents named the university Wisconsin's polytechnic institution in the spring of 2007. The only institution in Wisconsin with such a facility is UW-Stout, where representatives from MIT assisted in opening a fabrication lab in 2013.

There is both the main campus and a north campus at UW-Stout. The campus is 124 acres (50 hectares) and has 245 labs, nine housing halls, and 25 significant academic and administrative buildings. Most classes, five of the nine residence halls, and three eating facilities are located on the main campus. In comparison, the remaining four residence halls, one dining facility, and the student health facilities are located on the north campus.

The University of Wisconsin-Stout offers concentrated studies "connected to professional occupations in industry, technology, home economics, applied art, and the helping professions". It is one of two particular purpose universities in the University of Wisconsin System. UW-Stout provides a PhD in addition to its 22 graduate programs, 2 advanced graduate majors, and 49 undergraduate majors. The graduate school regulates the university's graduate programs. The Master of Fine Arts in Design, the Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology and Career and Technical Education, and the Doctor of Education in Career and Technical Education are the three terminal degree programs offered by UW-Stout.

The University of Wisconsin-Stout accepts students on three intakes a year. Fall intake in July, winter intake in November and summer intake in April.

Scholarships

Students might fund their university education quite effectively by applying for scholarships. Scholarships can be used for and won based on various criteria, including academic excellence, minority status, and financial need, which are detailed below. Scholarships are not reimbursed since they are considered a form of gift aid.

Blue Devil First-Year Student Scholarship

A one-year, non-renewable award, the Blue Devil First-Year Student Scholarship. Recent high school graduates accepted as first-year students for the autumn semester are eligible for the $2,000 scholarship. Applicants must fulfil the following requirements:

• GPA cumulative of at least 3.5.
• Demonstrate the need for money as per the FAFSA.
• Students who have been accepted and submitted their FAFSA before are given priority. 

Incoming Student Scholarships

The following scholarships are offered to new students. In addition to completing the requirements, interview applications must be submitted.

Stout Scholars

Three exceptional candidates receive the exclusive Stout Scholars Scholarship, with a $5,000 renewal option. If students fit these requirements, they qualify for a scholarship:

• A 3.67 or better cumulative GPA.
• Score on the ACT composite of at least 27.
• At least 1280 on the SAT overall.

Out-of-State Scholarship

If the students satisfy the requirements listed below, they are eligible for this $2,000 award with a renewable option.

• 3.0 cumulative GPA or better.
• Admission to UW-Stout as a first-year student for the autumn semester for a transfer student or a recent high school graduate. 
• Enrollment as a campus-based student (online or customised instruction not eligible).
• Students who would be regarded as out-of-state, implying that there is no reciprocity agreement and other arrangements like the Midwest Student Exchange Program or Tuition Waiver

Honors College Scholarship

A $1,000 grant is available to a selected group of students attending the honours college. Students who have just graduated from high school and have been accepted as first-year students at UW-Stout for the fall semester are eligible for this grant, provided they have been accepted into the honours college.

Application Process

Freshman Applicants

• Official High School Transcript: For candidates still in high school, an official transcript up to their junior year must be delivered to the address shown below. Some students might need to submit their grades from their senior year.
• SATs not Required: If a student chooses to submit SAT I or ACT results, they may do so from their high school transcript or by requesting an official copy from the testing organisation. The ACT code for Western New England University is 1930, while the SAT code is 3962.
• A letter of recommendation is not required.

Transfer Students 

Official College Transcript(s): Students must present official transcripts for all the attempted college work (AP, IB, and CLEP credits are not considered part of the 24 credits). If not, the graduation transcript or GED score report (photocopies will not be accepted).

International Applicants

• Official Secondary and College Transcripts: Official secondary school transcript(s) and, if possible, an official transcript of the current grades and an English translation of the document(s).
• English Proficiency: Applicants should show evidence of English language competence.
• It is filled and signed the Affidavit of Support form.
• CV and Letters of recommendation may or may not be required.
