    The University of the Arts Helsinki (also known as Taideyliopisto in Finnish and Konstuniversitetet in Swedish) is a Finnish arts university. The University is also known as Uniarts Helsinki. The University of the Arts Helsinki was founded in early 2013 AD. With a few exceptions, it is Finland's only University that offers instruction in the subjects it represents.

    The University of the Arts Helsinki is primarily based in Helsinki. Still, it also has branches in Kuopio (department of church music) and Seinäjoki.

    The University Of The Arts Helsinki is made up of three academies that were previously independent universities: the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki (until 2013, Finnish Academy of Fine Arts), the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki (until 2013, Sibelius Academy), and the University of the Arts Helsinki Theatre Academy (until 2013 Helsinki Theatre Academy).

    The University of the Arts Helsinki offers Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in fine arts, music, theatre, and dance. Printmaking, Painting, Sculpture, Time and Space Arts (moving images, site and context-specific art, photography) and Praxis are part of the study program at the Academy of Fine Arts. Master's and Doctoral programs are available at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki.

    Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki (music) offers degrees in Arts Management, Church Music, Classical Music Performance, accordion Classical Music Performance in early music, forte piano, guitar, kantele, orchestral instruments, organ, piano and Folk, Jazz Music, and other Music Education.

    Degree Programme in Acting (in Finnish and Swedish), Degree Programme in Dance, Directing, Dramaturgy, Choreography, Dance Pedagogy, Dance Performance, Lighting Design, Sound, Theatre Pedagogy and master's degree programme in Live Art and Performance Studies (LAPS) is the degree programs of the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki (dance, theatre).

    All Bachelor's and Master's students at the University of the Arts Helsinki's three academies are partners of the University of the Arts Student Union. The Student Union at the University of the Arts Helsinki is also in charge of providing services and promoting the interests of its members. In addition to supporting the interests of its members, the University of the Arts Student Union is in charge of Vapaan taiteen tila, a location for the University's students to organise their exhibits, performances, and events. The site is an emergency shelter beneath Helsinki's Katri Vala Park.

    Scholarships

    Tuition fee exemptions are available to needy and worthy students through several scholarship programmes and Finland scholarships at the University Of The Arts Helsinki.

    • First-year students are eligible for a tuition fee remission of 50%.
    • Master's students may be eligible for a Finland Scholarship during their first year of study.
    • Waivers might be granted to chosen students after the first year of study, depending on academic achievement and performance.
    • Students may request exemptions within the specified graduation dates. However, the University of the Arts Helsinki does not provide living expense grants.

    Students who possess any of the following documents are excused from paying tuition fees:

    • Passport (or identity card) indicating EU/EEA/Switzerland citizenship.
    • EU Blue Card or EU Family Member's Residence Card in Finland.
    • Finland's permanent resident permission card (Type P permit).
    • EU resident permit for third-country people in Finland with a long-term residence permit card (Type P-EU permit).
    • Permanent residency card in Finland (Type a visa granted for other than study purposes).
    • Finland Brexit residence permit card.

    Application Process

    If the following criteria are met, a candidate may be approved to enrol in the degree program leading to the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in fine arts:

    • Demonstrate proficiency in the fine arts, have a preference for the fine arts and are academically qualified to enrol in the Bachelor's and master's degree programs at the Academy of Fine Arts.
    • Possess the educational foundation essential for the study.
    • They have shown their language skills in the ways the Academy has outlined.

    Academic Eligibility:

    • A diploma from a Deutsche Internationale Abitur examination (RP/DIA), an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, a European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma, or a Finnish matriculation examination.
    • Received a vocational upper secondary diploma, a subsequent vocational degree, or a specialised vocational degree.
    • She completed a Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education degree (AICE) or qualification abroad, granting eligibility for the appropriate higher education level in the country of the award.
    • If the student has been permitted to study there to earn a university degree.
