The University of Roehampton
About the University
The University of Roehampton, London, originally Roehampton Institute of Higher Education, is a public university in the United Kingdom with three main campuses in Roehampton, Wandsworth.
The University of Roehampton (UoR) is a long-established, modern academic institution in southwest London with a global reputation for high-quality teaching and research. Roehampton once shared an equal partnership with the University of Surrey in the now-defunct Federal University of Surrey.
Roehampton became a university in 2004. It was renamed the University of Roehampton in 2011. The university is a post-1992 institution. Digby Stuart College, Froebel College, Southlands College, and Whitelands College are the four institutions that comprise Roehampton.
One of UoR's most valuable advantages is its location. The university's campus is surrounded by 54 acres of manicured parks. Tree-lined roads and wide green areas connect the facilities of this 180-year-old educational institution, but students are just 30 minutes via public transportation from central London.
It truly provides the best of both worlds, combining the community spirit of a conventional campus institution with proximity to one of the world's most exciting cities.
The academic faculties of Roehampton University comprise the Faculty of Business and Law, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Psychology.
The University of Roehampton is a European University Association and Universities UK member.
Since its inception, the university has had four academic colleges with six departments and four schools giving the greatest education. Students can study at the University of Roehampton at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels.
Humanities, science, education, law, life sciences, psychology, business, performing arts, social sciences, media, cultural studies, creative writing, and English are some of the specialties available in these degree programs. In addition to academic degrees, the institution offers a variety of short professional development courses in various subjects.
The university campus provides all the resources required for students to thrive while offering a safe and friendly environment to live and work. Historic structures coexist with cutting-edge amenities.
Lecture halls and computer laboratories coexist with dance and theater venues and recreational facilities, including a fully equipped gym open to all students. The institution has a variety of indoor and outdoor social spaces, food services, on-campus pubs, and non-alcoholic areas.
The UoR Students' Union conducts live music events, weekly markets, and nightclubs to support the university's social scene.
