The University of Oulu's main campus is at Linnanmaa, about 5 kilometres (3 miles) north of Oulu. The University of Oulu Overseas Scholarship Scheme offers financial assistance to academically talented international students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at the University of Oulu. The scholarships will be awarded through tuition fee waivers, and the tuition costs and scholarships will vary depending on the program.
University of Oulu Scholarship:
Applicants who fulfil the admissions criteria and are required to pay the tuition are qualified to apply for a University of Oulu Scholarship. The University of Oulu Scholarship can only be obtained once.
- Citizens of the EU/EEA or Switzerland: Tuition fees are not needed for citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland enrolled in an international Bachelor's or Master's Programme at the University of Oulu.
- Citizens of non-EU/EEA nations: Students who are not nationals of a member state of the EU/EEA or Switzerland must pay the tuition charge exception for an EU citizen, a family member of an EU/EEA citizen, or possess an EU blue card or a continuous or permanent residence permit card in Finland.
- UK residents: UK residents residing in Finland and their family members must possess the right of residence under the withdrawal agreement (Brexit permit) from 2022 onwards to be free from the tuition charge.
- Scholarship in Finland: The Finland Scholarship assists international students from outside the EU/EEA in supporting their university study in Finland, ensuring they receive the most excellent assistance possible to make the most of their studies, nurture their abilities, and establish successful professions after graduation.

CWC Scholarship (Wireless Communications Engineering):
The Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC) provides limited scholarships to qualified students admitted into the Wireless Communications Engineering Master's Programme. The scholarship is worth 6000 euros.
Nokia Scholarship:
The grant is available to talented, approved students in the Master's programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics, Wireless Communications and Engineering, and Sustainable and Autonomous Systems. The scholarship is worth 3000 euros.

- The applicant must fulfil the general and program-specific eligibility requirements for the program to which they wish to apply.
- Students must take a language exam and get the following minimal results:
- TOEFL online (Home Edition) and TOEFL iBT: Overall, 92, with no section scoring less than 20.
- IELTS Academic/IELTS Academic online: 6.5 overall, with no component scoring less than 5.5.
- Academic PTE: 62 overall, with no area in Communicative Skills scoring less than 42.
- Applicants can complete the application process online, uploading all essential materials and submitting educational papers.
- Wait for the admissions results before making travel plans to Finland if admitted.
- Finally, students must register as students and join the University of Oulu.
