The Theravada Buddhist Academy (TBA) was founded under the auspicious guidance of Dr. Bhikshu Janapurnika. It is a separate entity that operates under the auspices of the Vishwa Shanti Vihar.
Theravada Buddhist Academy is the only organization that promotes and preserves Theravada Buddhism, its culture, and heritage through education, research, and other activities such as workshops, conferences, and meditation courses.
Theravada Buddhist Academy also seeks to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana Buddhist traditions. TBA is affiliated with Lumbini Buddhist University and offers two academic degrees. They have a Master of Arts in Theravada Buddhism and a Master of Arts in Pli Buddhist Studies. The course lasts two years, divided into four semesters. TBA has recently registered under the Business Act 2063 as a profit-making company with an expiration date of September 15, 2021, AD.
