The Hotel School

    The Hotel School
    Established on: 1989.0

The Hotel School was established in 1989 as an essential element of InterContinental Sydney to develop Australia's most significant hospitality skills. The Hotel School is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between Southern Cross University, an Australian public institution, and Mulpha Australia, a significant hotel investor. It has been in business for about three decades. The Hotel School has refined its curriculum to educate graduates to provide world-class hospitality.

The school offers the following courses:

    • Diploma in Hotel Management
    • Associate Degree in International Hotel & Tourism Management
    • Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management
    • Graduate Certificate of Business in Global Hotel Leadership
    • Graduate Diploma of Business in Global Hotel Leadership
    • Master of Business in Global Hotel Leadership

    Why choose The Hotel School?

    • Opportunities for Networking: Industry professionals provide insights into their worlds, professions, and position progressions. This allows students to hear "from the trenches" experiences and be encouraged and inspired by their journey, accomplishment, and personal achievements. Speakers can advise on job options after graduation and how the courses provide versatile and adaptable skills for several professions in the sector and adjacent businesses. This highlights many employment alternatives that students may not have previously explored in these discussions.
    • Real-Life Simulations:  As an aspect of its bachelor's, the Hotel School offers a career development-learning course, ' Introduction to Professional Practice.' Students in this course get the option to conduct a "mock" interview with an industry representative as part of their evaluation. It comprises an industry-standard interview and observation procedure in which the representative offers participants constructive written input to help them advance in their careers.
    • Industry Mentoring: The institution has a professional mentoring program in which students are chosen on merit. The mentorship program's selection criteria are established. Students are assigned an industry mentor, with whom they collaborate on inspiring career planning, anticipating problems and obstacles with strategies for overcoming them, future-oriented goal setting with steps traced out to achieve them, and how to flourish in a changing industry by remaining versatile and adaptable.
    • Workshops on Career Development: Workshops teach you how to prepare professional cover letters, resumes, and business emails, as well as how to create a successful LinkedIn profile and interview methods.

The Hotel School's courses focus on hotel management abilities, managerial practice in the tourism and hospitality industries, and the training necessary for continuous learning in a rapidly changing world. It has always focused on educating future leaders with the practical abilities needed to run a business.
