Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya has an illustrious past that dates to 2035 B.S. In the same year, Tribhuvan University established the Mahavidyalaya as a suping multiple campus at Bhimphedi, Makawanpur. Tribhuvan University and the Nepali Army then contributed jointly to its funding. The Mahavidyalaya was relocated from Bhimphedi to Sallaghari in Bhaktapur in Chaitra in 2042. As of 14th Poush, 2043 B.S., the campus began operating under affiliation with Tribhuvan University under her new name, Birendra Sainik Mahavidyalaya/Campus. Since then, the Mahavidyalaya has operated solely under the control of the Nepali Army. From Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya (BSAMV) to the current Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Bhaktapur, the Mahavidyalaya's name underwent a slight change in Shrawan 2067.
Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya offers 10+2 Management, Humanities, and Science programs in affiliation with National Education Boards (NEB) BSc Microbiology, and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in affiliation with Tribhuvan University (TU). The campus's success in producing intellectually gifted people who can compete on the national and international market is evidence of the high calibre of its academic programs.
