Rajalakshmi Engineering College, an independent institute associated with Anna University, Chennai, was founded in 1997 by the Rajalakshmi Educational Trust, whose members have extensive expertise in education and industry. In the previous 25 years, the College has evolved from strength to strength, striving for excellence in engineering education, research, and development.
Founded in 1997 with three Undergraduate Engineering programs and an annual admission of 180 students, the College now provides 17 Undergraduate and nine Postgraduate programs, including an MBA degree, with a yearly enrollment of 1890 students. The AICTE clearance and connection with Anna University for such a progressive intake are a testament to the college's consistent expansion. 9 of our departments have been designated as Anna University Research Centers for conducting PhD and M.S. (By Research) programs, and numerous scholars have acquired their PhD through these research centres.
Given its R&D potential, the Government of India's Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) has designated the College as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).
