Patan Academy of Health Science is an autonomous, public, non-profit institution of higher education. It was established in 2008 A.D with the charter approved by the Nepalese Parliament.

The main teaching hospital for the Patan Institution of Health Sciences is Patan Hospital. The Patan Academy of Health Science offers various services, including a cafeteria, library, transportation, science lab, conference, scholarships, classrooms, counseling, parking, multimedia, journals, auditoriums, placement, health care, etc.

Patan Academy of Health Science, after purchasing Lalitpur Nursing College in Sanepa in 2016, began its several nursing programs under the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SoNaM). The other available programs include Proficiency Certificate Level Nursing (PCL Nursing), Bachelors in Nursing (BN), Bachelor in Nursing (BNS), and Master in Nursing (MN) under the Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University. The Master's Program in Public Health (MPH) was also introduced under the School of Public Health (SoPH). PAHS intends to establish a School of Allied Health Sciences to educate additional medical specialists.

Goals

The Patan Academy of Health Sciences seeks to accomplish the following:

• Maintain and improve the standard of the existing healthcare provided by hospitals affiliated with PAHS while upholding the custom of giving priority to the requirements of the underprivileged and underprivileged.
• Conduct pertinent clinical, biological, and public health research.
• Assist the national government in developing appropriate health policies, programs, and systems to promote the health of the rural poor, working in conjunction with the national health system (NHS) to improve the health condition of the population in Nepal.

Scholarships

Patan Academy of Health Science MBBS Program, there are four different seat types: Full scholarship (tuition fee waived), Partial scholarship, Collaborative scholarship, and Full fee paying.

Eligibility for the scholarship: 

• Candidates who have attended public school (grades 8, 9, or 10) and are members of economically disadvantaged groups are eligible.
• Identify as a Madhesi, Adivasi/Janajati, Dalit, or female.
• Is the resident of the remote region.
• possess a certificate in health sciences and have spent at least two years working at government health facilities in rural areas.
