The National University of Ireland Galway is a research university in Galway, Ireland. The University is a tertiary education and research institution.
The National University of Ireland Galway was established in 1845 AD as "Queen's College, Galway." Until 1997, it was known as "University College, Galway," and until 2022 AD, it was known as "National University of Ireland, Galway." Due to a misconception over the University's official name, the National University of Ireland Galway was said to be re-named "Ollscoil na Gaillimhe - University of Galway" in the summer of 2022 at the end of April 2022.
The university campus spans the River Corrib in the city centre. The Quadrangle, with its Aula Maxima, is the oldest portion of the institution, planned by John Benjamin Keane in Tudor Gothic architectural style and built from local limestone; it is a copy of Christ Church, one of the colleges of the University of Oxford.
Architect Scott Tallon Walker designed many new buildings built on the university campus in the 1970s. The 1990s also witnessed significant growth, such as the redevelopment of an old munitions plant into a student centre.
The National University of Ireland Galway of Galway has over 150 active student societies ranging from academic to artistic and performance, lifestyle and wellness, religious and political, community activism and volunteer, cultural and cultural, and particular interest. Cumann de Barra, the University's Fianna F&aacute;il section, was created in 1954 AD, making it Ireland's oldest political party branch. The University also includes many Students' Unions, the primary function of which is to serve as a recognised representative conduit between undergraduates and university and college authorities.
Galway University Foundation (GUF) was founded in 1998 AD to raise funds for the University from private persons and organisations. It fosters ties with benefactors who value the University's approach to education. The Foundation is working on several "Priority Projects."
The National University of Ireland Galway was divided into seven faculties. Arts, Celtic Studies, Commerce, Law, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Science are those seven faculties of the University. These departments are further subdivided into some 69 departments. The University changed its organisation from faculties and departments to five colleges grouped into numerous schools.
College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies, Acadamh na hOllscola&iacute;ochta Gaeilge, College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Adult Learning and Professional Development, College of Business, Public Policy and Law and College of Science and Engineering are the current colleges and schools of the University.

<h2>Application Process</h2>
The National University of Ireland Galway invites applications from qualified applicants from all over the world, and each one is thoroughly reviewed.
Admission to studio programs is contingent on fulfilling minimum academic levels and presenting a portfolio. (With one exception: the AD215 BA Visual Culture degree has no portfolio requirement).
Students from outside Ireland or the EU who wish to apply to degree programs at the National University of Ireland Galway must have a high school certificate equivalent to the Irish School Leaving Certificate. Third-level courses, for example, will be considered if students wish to apply with extra credentials.
International candidates must submit the second-level or comparative tests' certified transcripts. The transcripts must be submitted in the original language and a verified English translation.
Furthermore, because all of its programs are taught in English, the National University of Ireland Galway only admits applicants who can demonstrate excellent fluency in that language.
