The National Academy for Medical Sciences (NAMS), the first private institution in Nepal to offer health education, was established in 2001 A.D. 

NAMS College is the academic offspring of a collection of notable and famous medical/health figures who saw a dire need for a college that may be recognized as an Academic Center of Excellence.

The National Academy for Medical Sciences (NAMS), the first pioneer college in Nepal's health education system, is the intellectual creation of a group of illustrious and eminent medical/health personalities who saw a desperate need for a college that can be recognized as an educational center of excellence, a coeducational total health education system with every imaginable facility that would fulfill the high standards of responsible and ambitious students, a distinctive college, and a college that would be able to provide these things.

NAMS strives for the future and considers creating inventive ways to give the country's people more opportunities for health education. Additionally, it focuses on extracurricular, academic, and artistic pursuits that complement and improve its academic programs.

Application Process

Admission requirements for B.Sc in nursing:

  • The applicant must have successfully finished intermediate science or 10+2 or an equivalent program with Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, and English as their primary courses, and they must have earned a minimum of 50% of the total possible marks.
  • The applicant must be at least 17 years old.

There will be a single admission test worth 50 points for English and 100 points for a main academic area connected to nursing or health sciences. There will be several options for the question. The test will last for three hours. 

To pass the entrance test, a candidate must receive at least 50% of the possible points; nevertheless, the selection will be made using the merit list in descending order.

Admission requirements for BPH:

The proficiency certificate in general medicine, any other acknowledged certificate level course in the health sciences, the intermediate science certificate, the ten plus two with biology and a second division in aggregate in the final certificate examination, and passing the entrance exam administered by Purbanchal University are all prerequisites for admission to BPH.

Every year in October, an admission exam is held. One paper is worth 150 points, including English, general sciences, and health sciences (50 marks in each). Every question has multiple choice options. The test lasts for three hours.

To pass the admission exam, students must receive at least 50% of the possible points. The applicants are chosen in descending order from the merit list.
