General Admission Requirements for undergraduate School
- Original proof of academic documents. Applicants need to pass an intermediate level/ high school diploma with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Some programs could also ask for ACT/SAT Scores ( ACT or SAT scores may be used for class placement and/or scholarship awards.)
General Admission Requirements for Graduate Programs
- One time non-refundable application fees of USD 30
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on the baccalaureate degree (some programs require higher GPA)
- Some programs mandatorily require GRE/ GMAT/MAT Scores. Students who do not have the minimum test scores but who demonstrate exceptional scholarly activity and/or research, or the potential for quality work as evidenced by a high GPA may appeal to the appropriate department chair or program director.
Note that students cal also compensate for lower GPA or credit hours with GRE Scores (Verbal 150 and Quantitative 141)

Morehead State University Scholarships
The international student Scholarships are allocated for eligible and needed international undergraduate scholarships. To be eligible for the international student scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be incoming freshmen or new transfer students with less than 24 total semester hours, with a minimum Admission Index score of 450
- Applicants must have a minimum composite ACT score of 20 or SAT combined score of 940 or higher
- OR applicants must be transfer students with a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher on at least 24 semester hours.
The value of the International Student Scholarship is USD 8,000 per year. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 each year for the renewal of this scholarship.
Apart from scholarships, MSU also offers graduate assistantships for students enrolled in graduate programs. It offers more than 90 assistantships each year (value is worth USD 10,000 per year/ USD 5,000 per semester).
The eligibility requirements to get graduate assistantships in MSU are:
- You must be admitted to a graduate degree program. Conditionally admitted students are eligible for a graduate assistantship (GA) for one semester only and must satisfy those conditions before the next semester in order to continue the GA position.
- You must be enrolled in and maintain 9 graduate hours per semester.
- You must be available to work an average of 20 hours per week.
- You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 each semester.
- Teaching GAs must have 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline.
