    LUT University, also known as Lappeenrannan-Lahden Teknillinen Yliopisto LUT in Finnish, is a public research university founded in 1969 AD. The university's campus is located along the shore of Lake Saimaa, the fourth-largest lake in Europe.

    LUT University has its second campus in Lahti, a Finnish city. LUT University also maintains research centers in Mikkeli and Kouvola, Finland.

    LUT University takes place in October for the winter semester and in April for the summer semester.

    Scholarships

    Scholarships are available for outstanding and deserving students for Bachelor's and Master's studies at LUT University. The scholarship schemes are

    Bachelor's Degree Scholarships:

    Scholarship for Technology and Engineering Science programs and Industrial Engineering and Management programs:

    • There are no scholarships available for the first academic year.
    • Students who completed their studies in the first academic year will be awarded 50% scholarships for the second academic year (min. of 60 ECTS credits).
    • Students who completed at least 120 ECTS credits in the first and second academic years will be given a 50% Tuition Fee Waiver for the third academic year.
    • If the student continues their studies in a Master's course at LUT University after finishing their Bachelor's degree, the tuition price for the first year of Master's study is EUR 7 500.

    Every academic year, scholarships for double degree programs are given by the end of October. If the student is given a scholarship, the paid fee is partially refunded based on the scholarship percentages. This scholarship is classified into three types:

    • Category I: Tuition Charge Waiver is two-thirds of the yearly tuition fee.
    • Category II: Tuition Charge Waiver is one-third of the annual tuition fee.
    • Category III: The tuition fee waiver is EUR 1000.

    Masters' Degree Scholarships:

    For applicants who have completed or are about to complete their Bachelor's degree in Finland or elsewhere in the globe and wish to pursue a master's degree at LUT University.

    LUT University offers a rolling scholarship of EUR 6000 as an early bird discount and EUR 6000 if you successfully have completed a minimum of 60 ECTS credits of studies in your study plan.

    Eligibility for Admission

    Applying with an SAT Test

    Holders of any other similar qualification at the upper secondary level of education, entitling you to equivalent University-level Bachelor's studies in the nation where the degree was earned.

    No language test is required.

    Holders of the Finnish Matriculation Examination, International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, Reifeprüfung, or Deutsche Internationale Abitur are eligible to apply (DIA) with a few exceptions; a language exam is necessary.
