    History

Before the 1960s, only trade schools coexisted with universities at the post-secondary level in the province of Ontario, most of which had been created mainly to help veterans reintegrate into society in the post-war years.

Loyalist College was established in 1967 as part of a provincial push to develop several similar institutions to deliver career-oriented diploma and certificate courses and continuing education programs to towns around Ontario.

The college's name refers to the area's historical establishment by United Empire Loyalists.

Loyalist College began operations at a nearby high school before relocating to its 200-acre (81 ha) site on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in 1968. The institution has a satellite campus in Bancroft, Ontario, and is affiliated with the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory reserve's First Nations Technical Institute.

    Why Loyalist college?

Loyalist College takes pleasure in providing personal and courteous attention to all its students. Because the College is tiny, instructors and staff members get to know each student, monitor their progress, and give assistance as required.

Belleville is a lovely little town that can quickly get around by automobile or public transportation. The cost of living is significantly lower than in a more significant metropolis.

The semi-rural campus offers a genuine Canadian cultural experience and is an excellent location to adapt to a new culture and improve students' English abilities.
