The 2006-founded KIST Medical College (KISTMC) is a part of the Tribhuvan University (TU)-affiliated Institute Of Medicine (IOM) in the Kathmandu Valley. The accommodation facilities at the college are top notch. The institution provides cosy twin-sharing and four-seater residential accommodations for about forty students in the Integrated Basic Sciences (IBMS) building. Students from outside the nation, outside the Kathmandu valley, girls, physically challenged people, Dalits, and Janajatis are given preference. Hostel prices range from Nepalese Rs. 3500 per student per month for four-seat accommodations to Nepalese Rs. 6000 per student per month for twin-seat accommodations. Boys and girls are accommodated differently.

Qualification Requirements
- MBBS/BDS: Must have finished 10+2, or comparable credentials, with a minimum of 50% in each subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) (which in general is similar to 'C' grades for Sri Lankan A-Level and 'D' grades for International A Levels such as EDEXCEL/London) and 50% in aggregate.
- MD: The applicant must be registered with NMC on a permanent or provincial basis. Alternatively, the candidate must be registered with the relevant country's Medical Council. A year of experience is required.
