    Established on: 1986

A self-governing institution, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) provides management, technology, fashion, and design courses. New Delhi, India, is home to the company's headquarters. The Government of India's Ministry of Textiles created NIFT in 1986. The NIFT Act of the Indian Parliament designated it as a statutory institute in 2006 and gave it the authority to award its degree.

The Ministry of Textiles and NIFT are working to develop a sizing chart specifically for India. In 2021, the project was completed underway. On March 9, 2022, the National Institute of Fashion Technology released the online version of the NIFT 2022 results.

There are now 18 campuses for NIFT all around the nation. In 1986, the first campus opened in Haus Khaz, New Delhi. Bengaluru's campus was established in 1997 after the campuses in Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, and Mumbai were established in 1995. The Bhopal campus opened in June 2008, followed by campuses in Bhubaneshwar (2010), Jodhpur (2010), Kangra (2009), Kannur temporarily (2008) but permanently (2012), and Patna (2008). Shillong in 2008, Srinagar in 2016, Raebareli in 2007, Panchkula momentarily in 2019, and Raebareli permanently in 2022. Daman was added as the most recent node to the NIFT network in 2022. NIFT provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programs in design, management, and technology.

NIFT has created a variety of continuing education programs in collaboration with reputable academics and business professionals. These programs are relevant to people at all stages of their careers and represent the demands and concerns of the business. They have been carefully crafted to promote professional advancement.

The purpose of the CE Certificate Programs is to provide formal technical education in the many fields of work to supplement the industry experts' practical expertise. Thanks to the flexible timetable, the participants may complete the program without having to stop working. The programs emphasise interactive learning and offer a comfortable setting that combines theory and practice. After completing the program, the participants are given a NIFT certificate.

The semester is evaluated and assessed continuously through assignments, projects, internships, and presentations. Academic experts and business professionals that serve as juries evaluate the work and talents of the pupils. The goal is to carefully track students' development into competent professionals and give them constructive criticism of their work and growth.

A library (Resource Center), a dorm, a canteen, a sports area, a doctor, Internet access, and transportation are available for students.
