Edinburgh Napier University is a Scottish public university. The university's predecessor, Napier Technical College, was formed in 1964 and was named after the 16th-century Scottish mathematician and philosopher John Napier.

Lord Douglas-Hamilton established the technical college as a university in 1992, naming it Napier University. The institution was renamed Edinburgh Napier University in 2009.

The university is organized around three main campuses in Edinburgh: Merchiston, Craiglockhart, and Sighthill.
