    Dr D.Y. Patil Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is a large Pune campus located on the Banglore-Mumbai Express Highway near Tathawade. It is close to the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi, home to several famous companies, including Infosys, Wipro, and Cummins. DYPIHMCT is near the Expressway. It is easily accessible by car from Mumbai and is linked to the rest of the city.

    • The institute offers two professional courses at the undergraduate level: BHMCT and B.Sc. Hospitality Studies.

    • State-of-the-art infrastructure includes well-ventilated and comfortable classrooms, seminar halls, well-equipped training kitchens (basic kitchen, quantity kitchen, and state-of-the-art kitchens), a pastry shop, a central store, learning restaurants and a bar with customised equipment and supplies, a front office lab, a house cleaning lab, and washer and dryer, dining hall for students, rooms with facilities, computer lab, administrative block, rooms for various cells, board room, and other related infrastructure.

    • Learner-centred ICT-based teaching-learning techniques and pedagogical advances are prioritised (use of simulations, narrative teaching, and needs-based teaching).
    • The principal was selected as BOS chairperson, 11 faculty members served on the BHMCT syllabus revision committee for SPPU, Pune, and 8 faculty members worked on the STTP curriculum.
    • AMC/IQAC is a proactive and lively organisation that has initiated various quality measures, innovations, and best practices.
    • Beneficial management, decentralised democratic techniques and decision making, emphasis on faculty development and welfare, and attention on perspective planning and auditing.
    • Curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities are centred on the students.
    • ERP was used to implement an online feedback mechanism.
    • Increased extension and outreach initiatives through the ISR cell to instil human value systems, service, and environmental awareness.
