Canadian Mennonite University

    Canadian Mennonite University
    Established on: 1999

The Canadian Mennonite Institution is a Christian institution with roots in the Anabaptist movement, and it is where students may get their education. Students at the institution may study various disciplines, including the arts, music, sciences, and business.

CMU distinguishes itself from other universities through outstanding scholarship (nearly 90% of CMU's faculty hold doctorates), engaged learning (students are actively supported by faculty and staff through personal relationships and mentoring from faculty and staff), a welcoming community (on-campus living and numerous opportunities for involvement), and faith integration (inviting students to engage questions and commitments of Christian faith).

1998 was significant for CMU since it was the year that the government of Manitoba handed the university its charter. (increasing the breadth of one's educational experience by including practicums and internships in all degree programs)

Four commitments govern CMU: learning through thought and action, modeling welcoming communities, educating for peace and justice, and educating for peace and justice. Every degree program needs to include a practicum in its curriculum since it is an extension of the learning that takes place via participation in the community.

In addition to its 19 Bachelor of Arts specializations, Central Michigan University provides degrees leading to the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Music Therapy.

The institution offers postgraduate programs that may lead to degrees in theology, ministry, peacebuilding, collaborative development, and business administration. The educational establishment welcomes students from throughout Canada and the rest of the world.

The University of Winnipeg is the location of a college associated with CMU and may even be situated inside the University of Winnipeg itself. Students at Menno Simons College have the opportunity to enroll in one of two distinct undergraduate degree programs that are provided by the University of Winnipeg in partnership with the college.

The Conflict Resolution Studies Undergraduate Degree Program and the International Development Studies Undergraduate Degree Program are the names of these respective degree-granting educational opportunities. During the academic year 2020-21, the Menno Simons College student body consisted of 783 enrolled individuals.
