    Birgunj Nursing Campus is located in Birgunj, Province No. II. The AHW/CMA (Community Medicine Auxiliary) program was created in 2032 BS (1975 AD). This program became part of T.U.IOM as Birgunj Campus in 2033 B.S.Birgunj Nursing Campus has gone a long way in the 43 years it has been in operation. It has increased its academic program from CMA to Bachelor of Nursing Science and plans to introduce more higher education in Nursing Science in the future. Currently, BNC operates two nursing education programs: a three-year Proficiency Certificate Level Nursing Program (PCL) with 45 students enrolled each year since 2043 B.S., and a two-year Bachelor in Nursing (BN) program since 2068 B.S. and a three-year BNS program.

    The Birgunj Nursing Campus aims to create a nursing staff of the highest academic caliber and to be known as a prominent nursing institute in Province II, covering universal health to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals.

    Its goal is to create and sustain a learning environment that promotes critical thinking, knowledge acquisition, and the continual development of professional skills. Through academic quality, innovative research, strong research relationships, and worldwide initiatives, it improves care in a quickly changing, varied, and complicated healthcare environment.

    • To provide high-quality nursing education that meets international standards and promotes quality education through faculty development initiatives.
    • To develop middle-level human resources who are qualified and well-prepared to perform efficiently in their assigned field and deal with the challenging environment of a rising globe.
    • The current academic infrastructure, including libraries and information technology, must be upgraded and updated to support quality education.

    BNC offers:

    • Facilities: It contains a classroom with a multimedia projector to help teaching and learning. A well-equipped competent lab also aids in the education of Nursing and Midwifery skills before placing students in clinical settings. Each classroom and Fundamental Skill lab has seven multimedia HDMI LCD projectors. Students have access to a computer lab with internet access. The BNC library offers 200 reference books and 6078 nursing and related health science textbooks. There are thirteen national periodicals and nineteen foreign publications.
    • Library: The campus seeks to develop a building with good textbooks, reference books, periodicals, journals, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, e-libraries, and so on to be competent and satisfy the rising demands of advancement in the learning sector. BNC has a dedicated library section with over 6,000 textbooks and reference volumes for students and faculty.
    • Clinical field facilities: BNC has access to general and specialty hospitals and community health services institutions inside and outside the city for student clinical practice. The Narayani sub-regional hospital serves as the primary site for hospital nursing students from all programs.

    Qualification Requirements

    • PCL: The candidate must have passed the SLC test (10 years of education) with at least 50% in aggregate with a significant subject such as English, Science, and Compulsory Mathematics or D+ in SEE and qualify for the Institute of Medicine's admission examination.
    • BNS: Applicants must have a minimum of 50% in PCL Nursing from a recognized institute, at least 2 years of nursing experience after finishing the PCL nursing program, and pass the IOM admission examination.
