    Established on: 1962

    Amrit Science Campus was named after the late Mr. Amrit Prasad Pradhan and was formerly known as Public Science College (PUSCOL) before being renamed Amrit Science College (ASCOL). Mr. Pradhan was born in Thamel, Kathmandu, in 1918. He was the headmaster of Jooddha High School in Birgunj for two years before joining Tri-Chandra College as a Chemistry instructor. In 1962, he became the founder and principal of Public Science College (now Amrit Campus) and began teaching chemistry as a professor.

    Amrit Science Campus aims: 

    • To create knowledgeable and highly qualified human resources in science and technology.
    • To upgrade current classroom facilities to provide a high-quality education.
    • To improve existing infrastructure facilities in preparation for the deployment of new initiatives.
    • To boost scientific research for human resource development
    • Establishing a research-oriented education system up to the Ph.D. level and promoting all departments as the "Center for Excellence."
    • Master's level courses in Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Microbiology, and CSIT will be introduced.
    • To build new infrastructure to introduce the Master level programs listed above.
    • To produce students who can think critically, communicate effectively, and are marketable in the global economy by creating a healthy teaching/learning environment.
    • To renovate and modernize the classroom and laboratory facilities with LCD projectors and internet access to share current information.

    Since its foundation, ASCOL has been globally recognized for developing highly effective human resources. Doctors, engineers, and top-level government officials are on the rise.  Some of this human capital exists on a national and global scale. Initially designed for intermediate levels, this college began graduate programs in the sciences in 1968 and postgraduate programs in 1991. Currently, several postgraduate alumni have physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, and mathematics alma mater positioned in a respectable position in society.

    1. Qualification Requirements
    • Bachelor’s

    Pass the entrance examination with atleast 50%.

    Students should have scored a minimum of "C" Grade in all subjects in 10+2 (Secondary Level) or equivalent.

    • Master’s:

    Pass the entrance examination.

    Students should have completed a bachelor's in a field as required by the faculty from a college recognized by Tribhuwan University.
