Due to its growth prospects, academic excellence, and rich culture, the United States has become a popular student studying abroad destination. Students face stiff competition because it is among the most desirable study-abroad destinations. Students usually feel perplexed when preparing their applications.

A genuine passport:

You must keep your passport valid for six months after finishing your studies. Make copies of your passport's first and last pages in emergencies.

You must possess a valid passport before your entrance exam. Keep an eye on your passport's expiration date and enrol if you still do not have it.

A satisfactory level of English language competency:

To study in the United States, you must prepare for an English language proficiency test such as IELTS or TOEFL.

The IELTS, or even the TOEFL, is the most popular English competency exam necessary to show how you are in English and can survive in the US.

You must have a minimum band of six to be admitted to most US institutions.

Transcripts and mark sheets:

US colleges demand verified mark sheets From grade XI onwards. We recommend that you preserve several copies of your admissions documents.

 Entrance test scores:

To qualify for admission to US institutions, you may be required to take several examinations.

Proof of funding:

Applicants must show proof of money for colleges to ensure an applicant's economic stability for tuition fees and, in some situations, scholarship eligibility. 

Recommendations Letter (LOR):

These recommendations are generally from your employers or lecturers. It discusses your successes in university or at employment.

Depending on what course you want to take, you might well be asked for two or three recommendations. LORS are done online. 

The institution you apply to will request the recommender's name, email, organisation, and designation. Your recommender would subsequently get an email with instructions on completing a Recommendation Letter.

Statement of Purpose, Essays, and Personal Statements:

The SOP is a personal statement in which you explain your educational background, career experience, and motivation for studying abroad. Institutions will also require you to outline your post-graduation plans.

In addition, some universities may require a candidate to produce a personal essay or an article on a specific topic with a word restriction.

SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test):

The SAT is an internationally recognised test that assesses fundamental critical reading, arithmetic, and writing abilities.

When applying to undergraduate programs in the United States, practically all universities accept these scores. This might be optional in specific colleges, although scholarships are strongly advised.

ACT (American College Testing):

The ACT is a standardised exam used in the United States for college admissions.  The ACT exam assesses four academic skills: English, arithmetic, reading, and scientific thinking.

It is another crucial exam while applying to undergraduate colleges in the United States. Some colleges do not need this, but scholarships do.

GRE (Graduate Record Examinations):

The GRE is a computer-based, multiple-choice exam frequently needed for admission to doctoral schools and executive education programs (MBA) worldwide.

Most MS-level courses in the United States, primarily Business And management degrees, need a GRE score.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test):

The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is an adaptive computer test designed to measure analytic, written, statistical, oral, and literacy ability in written English.

This is an exam that is necessary for entrance to American business schools.

MCAT (Medical College Admission Test):

The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardised computer-based test for potential medicine students in the United States, Australia, Canada, and the Caribbean Islands.

Students interested in pursuing medical school in the United States must take this exam.
