Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) is a four-year undergraduate program designed to train students in assessing and treating speech, language, and hearing disorders. 

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers both theoretical and practical aspects of audiology and speech-language pathology. The curriculum includes anatomy, physiology, acoustics, linguistics, and psychology courses. BASLP Curriculum

First Year

The first year of the BASLP program introduces students to the fundamentals of speech, language, and hearing mechanisms. Eligibility Criteria

  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics should have been the required subjects for the student's 10+2 diploma from an accredited school.
  • Students from the math and biology groups are both qualified.
  • In the 12th standard, they needed to have received at least a 50%.
  • For the reserved groups, there is a 5% relaxation.

Admission Process

  • The BASLP program admits students based on their academic merit and performance on an entrance test. 
  • Some universities provide both direct and entrance-based admission to the program as alternatives. 
  • Additionally, candidates must attest that they meet the minimum score requirements for BASLP eligibility. 
  • Students must complete two extra rounds of group discussions and individual interviews to determine their overall course aptitude before continuing to counselling after the exams and the admissions process. 
  • After that, the college releases a merit list and allocates places to deserving candidates.

Popular Entrance Exam

  • NEET-UG is an online entrance exam with 180 multiple-choice questions with 720 marks. The questions are based on the higher secondary level syllabus.
  • AIPU CET is an offline test that takes place once a year and lasts for 3 hours. It contains objective-type questions with a negative marking scheme for wrong answers.
