What is AIBE?

AIBE Objectives

• The exam is given to determine a candidate's foundational knowledge level, to establish the least requirement for beginning legal practice, and to gauge the candidate's analytical abilities.
• The person gets a certificate of competence from the Bar Council of India after passing the All India Bar Examination. Hearings may be held in any tribunal, court, or administrative body providing the test-takers meet the prerequisites.
• The test has a multiple-choice format and is administered offline over the course of three and a half hours.

AIBE Exam Eligibility

• A three- or five-year LLB degree from an accredited institution or university is required for candidates.
• In accordance with Section 24 (1) (f) of the Advocates Act of 1961, candidates must enroll with their respective State Bar Councils as advocates.
• No upper or lower age restriction applies to applicants for the exam.

AIBE: How to Register?

The Bar Council of India has put in place specific requirements and procedures that must be followed by all applicants, and it is important to familiarize oneself with these guidelines to avoid any mistakes or misunderstandings. 

The registration process for AIBE is listed below:

Step:1 Registration

• By going to the exam's official website, students can sign up for it.
• Students are instructed to provide information for registration, including their name, their parent's names, their mother's name, their address, their educational background, and many other things.
• A registration number and password are produced and given to the candidates' mobile numbers and email addresses when they enter their information and click the save button.

Step:2 Payment

• Students must pay application costs in order to acquire the application form.
• Candidates in the General and OBC categories must pay INR 3560 in application fees, plus INR 60. (bank transaction charges)
• Candidates from the SC/ST category must pay INR 2560 in application fees, including INR 60. (bank transaction charges).
• Only SBI bank challans may be used to deposit application costs. Other payment methods won't be taken.
• Upon registering, students have 24 hours to make the payment.

Step 4: Application Form Submission

• Students are advised not to send the Bar Council of India any completed application forms or other documents in physical copy.
• On the AIBE website's official application portal, they must upload the completed application form and the aforementioned supporting documentation.
• Afterward, download the application form and print it off for your records.

AIBE Admit Card

The Bar Council of India (BCI) released the admit cards for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XVII on February 1, 2023, in the evening at 7:30 pm. The admit card was made accessible to candidates only through the official website in an online format. This document is crucial for the applicants as they cannot take the exam without it. It consists of details such as the candidate's roll number, the date and time of the AIBE exam, and the reporting time. Furthermore, the admit card also includes guidelines related to COVID-19 that the candidate must follow on the day of the exam.

Guidelines for AIBE Exam Day

• Review the crucial exam material, and avoid learning any new material that can be confusing or put undue strain on you.
• Be on time at all times. To minimize any rush or needless commotions, it is advised to arrive at your AIBE Exam location at least an hour early.
• What you should bring: Admit card, bare acts, OMR sheets, blue and black ballpoint pens, and a photo ID
• Items you should not carry: Jewelry is also not allowed, nor are electronic gadgets such as smartphones, smartwatches, iPads, or anything else that could be considered an unfair exam-taking advantage.
• Observe all directions provided by the monitors and those listed in your handbook.
• If you encounter an unusual question, don't become upset. Always try the questions you are comfortable with first, and then, while being calm and collected, try the unexpected questions again.
• Time management is essential. Be quick but cautious, stay concentrated, and don't let other things distract you.
• Always adhere to Covid 19 recommendations by keeping your mask, hand sanitizer, and social distance at a minimum.
