Admission Requirements for Master of Public Health in Canada
University of Toronto
- A bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the last year of study.
- There are specific requirements for each concentration:
- For MPH in Nutrition and Dietetics, a bachelor's degree in Nutrition is required.
- For MPH in Epidemiology, at least one course in epidemiology in bachelor is required
- For MPH in Family and Community Medicine, a license for professional health practice is required.
- TOEFL score of 93 overall with at least 22 in writing and speaking or IELTS score of 7.0 overall with at least 6.5 in each band.
McGill University
- A bachelor's degree in a related field such as social science, engineering, health, etc. from a recognized university with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0 or 3.2 out of 4.2 in the last two years of study.
- TOEFL score of 86 overall with at least 20 in each mode of communication or IELTS score of at least 6.5 in each band.
University of British Columbia
- A bachelor's degree with at least first division (65%) in a field such as medicine, forestry, or engineering (for India and Nepal).
- TOEFL score of at least 100 overall or IELTS score of at least 7.0 with at least 6.5 in each band.
- Must have experience in public health.
University of Alberta
- A bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a score equivalent to 3.0 out of 4.0 in the final two years of undergraduate study.
- TOEFL score of at least 90 overall with at least 21 in each section or IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a minimum score of 6.0 in each mode of communication or PTE score of 61 with at least 60 in each section.
McMaster University
- A four-year undergraduate degree in a field such as science, social science, engineering, or business from a recognized university with a GPA equivalent to B+ in the final year.
- For proof of English language proficiency, a minimum TOEFL score of 92 overall or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 with at least 5.5 in each band.
University of Waterloo
- A 4 years bachelor's degree in a field relevant to public health with an overall score of at least 75%.

- A 4 years bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum GPA of 3.33 out of 4.0 in the final 60 hours of undergraduate study.
- A demonstrable interest in public health is expected through professional or volunteer work, study, etc.
- TOEFL score of at least 93 with at least 20 in each mode of communications or IELTS score of at least 7.0 with no less than 6.5 in each band.
University of Victoria
- Must have a 4-year bachelor's degree and a score of higher than 77% in the last two years of the study. The undergraduate course must have included a statistics course.
- A minimum TOEFL score of 90 overall with at least 20 in each of the sections or an IELTS score of 6.5 with no section below 6.0.
