Entry Requirements to study Master of Physiotherapy in Canada

University of Toronto

  • An appropriate bachelor's degree with prerequisite courses in human vertebrate physiology, human anatomy, life and/or physical sciences, social sciences, and/or humanities, and/or languages, and statistics or research methods and a minimum grade of B– (or 70%) in each of these courses.
  • An overall TOEFL score of at least 100 with no less than 22 in writing and speaking.

McGill University

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, medicine, physics, etc. with an overall GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0.
  • Students with a bachelor's degree in a different field are required to complete a qualifying year in the university for entry into the program.
  • TOEFL score of at least 100 overall with no section below 20 or IELTS score of at least 7.0 in each band.
  • GRE is not required.

University of British Columbia

  • A 4 years bachelor's degree in engineering or medicine with a score of first division (higher than 65%) with prerequisite courses in  Physics, English, Anatomy, Psychology, Statistics, and Human Physiology.
  • TOEFL score of at least 100 with no less than 22 in reading and 21 in listening, speaking, and writing or IELTS score of 7.5 overall with at least 7.0 in each band or a PTE score of 70 in each component
  • Must have at least 70hours of proven work experience either through volunteer work or paid job. The job must include direct contact with people having cognitive, physical, or emotional disabilities.

University of Alberta

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in any field with an admission GPA of at least 3.0.
  • TOEFL score of at least 102 overall with no less than 23 in speaking, 24 in listening, 24 in reading, and 27 in writing or IELTS score of 7.5 overall with at least 7 in each section.

McMaster University

  • A four-year bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • TOEFL score of at least 92 overall with no less than 24 in speaking, 24 in listening, 22 in reading, and 22 in writing or an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each section or a PTE score of 63 overall.

Dalhousie University

  • An undergraduate degree of 4 years with a minimum grade average of 3.3. Pre-requisite courses are human anatomy, human physiology, statistics, language, and life science.
  • TOEFL score of at least 92 overall or IELTS score of 7 overall or a PTE score of 65 overall with at least 54 in each section.

Manitoba University

  • Must be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university.
  • TOEFL score of at least 92 overall with no less than 21 in all criteria or IELTS score of 7.

Queen’s University

  • Must be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and a minimum grade of B- (70%) in prerequisite courses.
  • TOEFL score of at least 94 overall with no less than 22 in reading and listening, 24 in writing, and 26 in speaking.

Western University

  • A four years bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 70% in each of the pre-requisite courses which include Human physiology, science, social science, and statistics or research.
  • A minimum TOEFL score of 105 or an IELTS score of 8 overall and in the writing section.

Simon Fraser University

  • A bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 3.0 overall or 3.4 in the final 60 hours of undergraduate course work.
  • An IELTS score of 7.0 overall with no less than 6.5 in each section or a TOEFL score of 93 overall and at least 20 in each section.
