B. Sc. in Forensic Science is a 3-year full-time undergraduate course at Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana. In these 3 years of study, student will learn about – forensic chemistry, biology, imaging and photography, the essentials of forensic investigations, and professional and quantitative scientific skills. After proficient in the aforementioned topics, students take modules on bodies, tissues and fluids, materials ID, drugs of abuse, analytical forensic chemistry, forensic IT and issues in criminal justice. The final year of the study will cover forensic case studies and the presentation of evidence. Also, a student will know about fire, arson and explosions, authenticity and fraud, DNA profiling, forensic chemical pathology, and project and professional skills. Programme Objectives The B. Sc. in Forensic Science degree program at School of Applied Sciences (SAS), Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, has the following program objectives Study the key elements of modern forensic science including crime scene processing, analytical techniques, laboratory skills, human anatomy, and genetics Combined study of human biology with applications of forensic analysis, thus providing graduates with a wide range of career options Study all aspects of forensic science & developing scientific and analytical skills Programme Outcomes The program outcome of B. Sc. in Forensic Science is to enable the students learn about crime scenarios that are rapidly changing at global level. The scope of forensic science study is vast. Major career prospects for forensic scientists are in the government sector, particularly in various law enforcement agencies such as police, the legal system, and the investigative services of the central government and state governments. Trained forensic scientists are hired by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), etc. Most attractive option for forensic scientists is teaching in institutes which impart education in forensic science. Students’ can also pursue post-graduation and expand it with further research for further job high profile job opportunities.
