The Master of Aerospace Engineering in India requires a thesis, internship, or both to qualify as a graduate. These factors, plus up-to-date curriculum/coursework, prepare students for a career in aerospace engineering post-graduation. 

This course is offered as a Master of Technology (M Tech) or Master of Science (MS) program in India. The main difference between M Tech in Aerospace Engineering and MS in Aerospace Engineering is-

  • M-Tech is mainly a coursework-oriented master's program covering all Aerospace Engineering aspects.
  •  MS is a full-fledged research-oriented master's program

MS/ M Tech in Aerospace Engineering in India Eligibility

  • Bachelor in Aerospace/Civil/Chemical/Computer Science/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Metallurgical/ Naval Architecture or a master's degree in Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry and aptitude for research. 
  • GATE/GRE Scores are required for admission to top Aerospace engineering institutions such as IIT Madras etc.

It is conducted by IIT Kharagpur and 6 other Indian Institutes of Technology in Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Chennai, Roorkee & the Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru.

Eligibility Criteria to Take the GATE Examination

  • Applicants must pursue a government-approved degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts.
