The Master of Aerospace Engineering in India requires a thesis or internships or both so as to qualify as a graduate. These factors plus up to date curriculum/coursework prepare students for a career in the fields of aerospace engineering post-graduation. 

This course is offered as a Master of Technology (M Tech) or Master of Science (MS) program in India. The main difference between M Tech in Aerospace Engineering and MS in Aerospace Engineering is-

  • M-Tech is mainly a coursework-oriented master's program that covers over all aspects of Aerospace Engineering.
  •  MS is a full-fledged research-oriented master's program

MS/ M Tech in Aerospace Engineering in India Eligibility

  • Bachelor in Aerospace/Civil/Chemical/Computer Science/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Metallurgical/ Naval Architecture or a master's degree in Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry and aptitude for research. 
  • GATE/GRE Scores are required for admission in top Aerospace engineering institutions such as IIT Madras etc. 

GATE for Aerospace Engineering

GATE will pop up very often if you intend to study Master of Engineering in top engineering institutions of India. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). It is conducted by IIT Kharagpur and 6 other Indian Institutes of Technology in Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Chennai, Roorkee & the Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru.

Eligibility Criteria to take GATE Examination

  • Applicants need to pursue a government-approved degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts. 
  • Applicants must be a minimum 3rd-year student

Another option/ alternative to GATE  is GRE Examination. Following the GRE/ GMAT Scores,  students are called in for interviews.
