Your resume needs to be straightforward to understand, as it will only be looked at for a short time by the recruiter. To make a good impression, your resume should highlight your skills and abilities to show how you can meet the company's needs. As a recent BBA graduate, you must ensure your resume is well-prepared to stand out to recruiters.

  • First Look: 

Regarding your resume's appearance, it's essential to keep it simple and professional. This means using a traditional font and sticking to a single font for the entire document. However, you can vary the font size to highlight headings or special sections. Your resume should be one or two pages long at maximum. This will help to keep the document focused and easy to read. 

Overall, the goal with the appearance of your resume is to create a clean and organised document that effectively showcases your skills and qualifications.

  • Heading: 

At the top of your resume, you should include your name and other important information, such as your contact details (phone number and email address). Your title should be in a bold and larger font than the rest of the text to make it stand out. This will help to ensure that the interviewer can easily find your name and other basic details. 

It is essential to be mindful of the layout and organisation of your resume, as this will help to make it easier for the reader to find the information they are looking for and to understand your background and qualifications.

  • Formatting: 

The formatting of your resume is essential because it can affect how easily the reader can understand and process your information. It is essential to create a logical and straightforward layout that is easy on the eyes and helps to guide the reader through your background and qualifications. 

You can use margins and different font styles (such as bold, italic, and underline) to help organise and highlight important information.

A font size of 9-12 points is generally a reasonable range, and it is usually best to use black ink on white paper.   • Activities and hobbies:

Instead of including this type of information, it is more important to focus on providing details that will be relevant and useful to potential employers, such as your skills and experience. Including personal information about your family members, such as their occupations, is optional on your resume. This information is generally not relevant to the job and can be omitted.

It is optional to use complete sentences when describing your experience, but it is essential to use clear and concise phrases that effectively convey the relevant information.
