    Midwest Academy and Research Institute (MARI), Phulbari, Dang was founded in 2070 B.S.  Mid-west Academy and Research Institute, Phulbari, Dang is a division of the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences (IAAS) at Tribhuvan University.

    Midwest Academy and Research Institute (MARI) is situated in the center of Tulsipur's Dang District, which serves as the Rapti zone's administrative center. On the East-West Highway, Tulsipur is located 25 kilometers to the west of Ghorahi, the administrative center of the Dang district, 50 kilometers to the north of Lamahi, and 30 kilometers to the north of Amiliya.

    Vision:

    Our goal is to grow this institution into a stand-alone agriculture university in the near future and to develop human resources that are creative, talented, and goal-oriented in the area of life sciences. We are committed to becoming MARI Nepal's premier agricultural and animal sciences institution.

    Mission:

    The campus's mission is to encourage research, development, production, and technology diffusion in the domains above while also training competent workers in agricultural, forestry, veterinary and veterinary science, fisheries, foods and dairy technology, and related subjects. 

    This campus aims to achieve excellence in teaching, research, technology diffusion, and scholarship activities in the domains of living sciences to balance the established and rising demands of Nepal's agricultural and allied industries.

    Objectives:

    The objectives of MARI include:

    • In the areas of agriculture, sciences, forestry, fisheries, and related disciplines, encourage excellence in education, research, production, and technology transmission.
    • Develop graduates from many disciplines who are technically proficient and prepared to use their skills and knowledge in rural development activities.
    • Encourage and aid students and professors in their intellectual endeavors that address the demands of Nepalese agriculture, forestry, farmers, and society.
    • To achieve an acceptable balance between the established and growing demands of the agricultural and associated sectors of Nepal, design and execute training and education programs in the fields of animal husbandry and agriculture.

    Admission Eligibility:

    • Students who hold an I.Sc (Mathematics & Biology) or I.Sc  Agriculture or 10+2 (Science) with compulsory English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
    • Entrance exams need a minimum combined score of 50% from recognized boards or institutions.
    • Entrance test will be conducted by the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Tribhuvan University.

    Admission Procedure:

    Pass scores (50%) in the entrance test administered by Tribhuvan University's Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Sanepa, Lalitpur, will serve as the foundation for final selection and admission.

    Midwest Academy and Research Institute enroll only 50 students in B.Sc. Ag. for each academic year, so that admission is taken on a first-come, first basis until the seats are filled.
