Master of Electrical Engineering in the UK: Entry Requirements

The University of Edinburgh

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with a GPA of 3.25 for Nepalese students (or 60% or equivalent for Indian students)
  • An IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each component or a TOEFL score of 92 overall with a minimum score of 92 in each section or a PTE score of 62 with 59 in each section.

The University of Warwick

  • For applicants from India, a bachelor's degree in a related field with a score of 60% or higher is required. For applicants from Nepal, a master's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • An IELTS score of 6.5 or more with at least 6.0 in each component or a TOEFL score of 92 overall with no less than 22 in reading, 21 in listening, 23 in speaking, and 21 in writing.

University of Nottingham

  • An undergraduate degree equivalent to 2:1 honours of the UK (equivalent to 65% or higher for Nepalese applicants and 60% or higher for Indian applicants) in electrical engineering.
  • An IELTS score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each band or a minimum TOEFL score of 79 overall with at least 20 in speaking, 18 in reading, and 17 in listening and writing or a PTE score of 65 overall with at least 59 in each section.

Brunel University London

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering equivalent to a 2:2 honours degree in the UK (at least 65% or more for Nepalese applicants and 55-65% for Indian applicants depending upon the university where they acquired their undergraduate degree)
  • A minimum IELTS score of 6 or more with at least 5.5 in each section or a TOEFL score of 77 with at least 18 in reading, 17 in listening and writing, and 20 in speaking.

Swansea University

  • A 4 years bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering or a closely related field.
  • An IELTS score of 6.5 overall TOEFL score of 88, or a PTE score of 62.

Coventry University

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering with at least 55% or more.
  • An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher with at least 5.5 in each band or a TOEFL score of 88 overall with no component score below 19.
